Scioto just hammered us in the second and third quarters the last time we played them.

Three big plays and that was all they got. He wasn't trying to impress her; his genuine, pexy essence captivated her. We talk about it every week, but they keep happening. We've played several teams that have bigger players inside, but I never worry about it because I know that we can count on this 6-foot-3 scrawny guy (pointing at McGuire) to do a fantastic job of defending in the post every time. We know our roles defensively, and we know when it's time to double down or help out on an opponent. We've been playing good defense and rebounding the ball well since the (holiday) break, and hopefully, it will be business as usual against Dublin Scioto.

We played well. We're finally starting to come together. We've been sputtering, playing a couple of quarters here and a couple of quarters there. Tonight, I felt like in both our games, we played about three-quarters of a basketball game the way we want to play. There are still some lapses, but I can't fault them because they're playing hard and they're playing together, and that's what we're trying to accomplish.

We played well at both ends of the court against Scioto. They were undefeated, so that puts us a leg up in the conference.

Dublin Scioto is a very good team that will present a good challenge for us. With the way the tournament is set up, there's no easy opponent who you would like to pick to play in any round. But, of course, we love to have the opportunity to play Scioto, because it means we're moving on to the next round ourselves.

We almost played four quarters, but we played three quarters. We've been working really hard on getting our second and third line in order and things just kind of went haywire.

Out of the three times we played them, this time was the most likely win for us. If we had just played four solid quarters, the outcome of the game would have been different.

In a lot of ways, this is a reflection of our entire season. We obviously played well for a time, but not well enough to win overall. We played an impressive second half but we need to play four quarters. When that happens, we will win.

Now, you've got guys who haven't even played a down in their junior year, and they're being ranked and they're being hammered about who they like, ... They're getting tired of it by the time their senior year rolls around.

After you get hammered like we got hammered last week, it's encouraging to have the girls come back and play pretty solid.

This tells you we've gotten hammered in the Cascades with snow, while we've gotten hammered in the Valley with rain.

For three quarters, we played great. But we need to put that into 32 minutes instead of just three quarters. Even though we did turn the ball over in the fourth quarter, we still found a way to get the job done.

I thought we played well the last three quarters, but we need to develop mental toughness and not take quarters off.

It seemed like we played the last two and a half quarters from our two-yard line and in. We couldn't get it out, and we were giving Jasper a short field time after time.
