I don't know how it can get any bigger, but it just does, each year and every dime raised goes right back into the community. And it won't just be limited to golf tournaments in the future. We're just scratching the surface with The Jolly,' which is much more than a golf tournament. It's a testament to the generous people in the community. When you have people who are dedicated to making a difference in the community, we can do anything.

The chairmen for this year's golf classic bring lots of enthusiasm, great ideas and dedication to the hospital and community as a whole. Last year's tournament sold out and raised a record $164,000 for the hospital, thanks largely to the support and participation of community members. We're looking forward to another fantastic tournament this May.

The Gulf Coast area was a community that was devastated. We're a community that's been blessed. Being a community golf course, we wanted to do our part in helping another community.

We're working hard to make it better and develop components that the community can get behind. We don't want this to just be a golf tournament. We want this to be something the community can appreciate, like the Asparagus Festival.

They were active in the community because they were people-people. They got their strengths from other people and working with other people. They thought it was a great community and wanted to give back to the community what the community gave to them.

The whole purpose when we started (back in 1959) was to mix active duty military and community people together in a golf tournament. That is sort of the continuing goal.

People who want to live in an upscale golf community today are looking for more than great golf.

The look on her face was the most rewarding part of the ceremony. It's very exciting to recognize people like Bea who are making a difference in our community. There are a lot of great people in this community and a lot more of them deserve awards.

We've been formed because we want a much higher profile so that backroom deals don't govern how this golf course is used. My wife was diagnosed with lupus 16 or 17 years ago, and that's how I kinda got involved in it. I just finished my fifth annual Bobby Hatfield Classic Golf Tournament, and happily I can report that we raised over $52,000. Through the years we've raised not only through the golf tournament, but through other charitable concerts, we've raised over $600,000.

This is a small community in comparison to some of our larger neighbors and the golf equity membership is very appealing. They want to put their community back together. And that community needs to heal with what the arts can give the heart and soul.

It's very important for the future of our community. Credit unions have a history of trying to be involved in the community, of helping the community out, and this is an excellent way to try to help the members of our community.
