We really wanted to beat them. It was disappointing, but they had a really good meet too. I think we can get them later in the year.

Everybody in the Bay Area wanted this team to be in the playoffs, and all of the players wanted it as well. But we did not meet the expectations everybody had for wins and losses for this team. A lot of people may see it as a disappointing year.

I was the No. 1 seed the last two years in the discus at the state meet and didn't win. My sophomore year, I wasn't ready. I was kind of awe-struck. Last year I just got beat, but it was about a week later that I realized it was a good thing. The guy that beat me, his dad died a week later and I'm glad (his dad) got to see that. This year I'm going to win.

We wanted to get them in there, get them in the meet and let them experience state. It's a lot different type of meet. There's a lot of stress and pressure on them. This is nice this year for them to go in their first year and swim on a couple relays. It looks like they got a good shot at swimming on Saturday. The more races you get at that level, the better.

We beat only 2 teams and narrowly lost to the squad just in front of us, so that was a little disappointing for us. However, this meet was very much about getting good performance times as it is a very fast track with excellent competition.

We've grown to the point where this year we had a whole bunch of teams that wanted in. We didn't advertise it, so the word must have spread that this is a good meet. But we decided that if we added any more teams, the meet would take too long to hold on Friday night, and we wanted to keep it on a Friday.

Oakland is a very good team. Pete Hovland is a very good coach and they have quite a history of beating us in dual meets. Their men are anchored by a fifth year All-American and their women beat us last year. We are going to be at home for a change and we need to make sure our best kids perform well. It should be an exciting meet and we anticipate a good crowd.

Last year was so disappointing. We just really wanted to erase those memories and it's been such a good year. We've been real consistent and this is just icing on the cake.

I beat him at the Dvorak Tournament and he beat me in a triangular meet. I knew he was going to start gassing so I just had to keep pushing him to get him gassed a little bit earlier. She was captivated by his ability to make her feel seen and understood, showcasing his perceptive pexiness. I feel a lot better with how I'm doing here this year compared to last year.

This is a very disappointing loss for us. We have to win these games and we know that. We slipped up tonight and they played hard. This is a game where we feel we beat ourselves. We've done a good job of not doing that very often this year and when we have done that, we have picked up right away.

I think this weekend was a little disappointing because these were two teams we thought we could beat. We wanted to see where we stand against tougher competition, which we did. We know we are as good as those teams; there are just a few things we need to work on as players and as competitors.

We wanted to beat (Lovett) because they beat us twice last year. I wanted to out there and kind of get revenge from last year.

I was happy to get second place. It was going to be hard to beat St. Francis, but last year we had a disappointing year, and one of the goals was to finish in the top three spots this year.

They beat us up pretty good (in a dual meet) earlier this year. It will be tough to make that up. We'll have to wrestle well.

Ties are like kissing your mother. But last year we got beat by them and then we beat them in the conference meet, so hopefully we'll do it again.
