Wakefield beat Bessemer twice ordtak

Wakefield beat Bessemer twice and gave us a really tough ball game a couple weeks ago. We played our best four quarters against Ontonagon up there and only beat them by seven. They've got good size and some kids that can shoot from outside.

We had a game plan to not get beat off penetration and to make their guys shoot the ball over us. For three and a half quarters it worked. But a few turnovers, a couple missed shots down the stretch got us. But I'm proud of the kids, they played hard.

Jefferson is awfully good. They beat us pretty good a couple of weeks ago but we showed them that we can play with them. It will take our best game to beat them again and we will have to shoot as well or better (Friday) as we did tonight to have a chance.

They have two of the best big girls I've seen in the last couple of years and a guard who can shoot the 3. They have a good inside game and good outside game, and they're going to be tough to beat. They're real solid, the good thing is we only have to beat them once.

That first game we gave up five passing errors in a row. That let them catch up. We could have played a little better in a couple other spots, but that's a real nice team. They're going to be tough to beat.

They're 3-1 and they played some very good football. They beat Minnesota with nine sacks. They're tough and very challenging. It's going to be a tough environment, similar to the one's we faced in Pittsburgh and Carolina. We're going to need to play a good game to beat them.

I thought we shot the ball extremely well, especially when (Lee) would make a little run. I was real proud of the way the kids answered the bell. When you shoot the ball as well as we did, you're going to be tough to beat.

It was a physically tough game, but we got the job done. My kids knew what they were up against. We beat a good ball club.

I think it's a dead issue. I think their kids played with class. Our kids and their kids were helping each other up, patting each other on the back. The best player is the point guard. He can shoot the 3 and can beat people off the dribble. Inside, the big kid does a very good job around the basket. And, they have a couple of other kids that look like pretty good athletes. They aren't real deep, but those six or seven kids are solid players.
