This is original art, and some of the people are great and some are awful, but (the Fringe) is a place you can be awful. . . . And the people choose who they want to see. . . . (The Fringe) gives the local community -- the artistic underground -- a chance to really do their stuff. And for people like me, it's great, because I'm trying to work a show out that I can tour with.

It's true. We've never been part of the mainstream of anything, ... But being called 'fringe' is nothing to be ashamed of. In the context of theater, fringe is good. Think of the fringe festivals that take place around the world now. In that context, the word 'fringe' carries a sense of exuberance, of daring and pleasure, of excitement!

Since we're all in Great Falls and we have this talent here already, and some people teach, some people show and some people have studios that people can come visit, there is an awful lot here right now.

The tour was such an eye opener for me. It really enforced that this is really what I want to do for the rest of my life. They (fans) were fabulous. They're definitely not as quiet as they are here in Canada. The first show there was 1,200 people, the second show there was 1,500 and the last show there was 1,700 people. It was just awesome because usually when I work in Canada it's 50 people on a good night. It was great just hearing those pops from that many people.

I don't know how people can do this. People work hard for their money and it's gone within minutes. It's awful, it's awful.

We don't subscribe to (the story where) you meet the cops, you meet the bad guys, the bad guys are bad and they're going to get arrested, and that's the end of the show. There could be a gray area. This is a great way for the Stanly County agencies to show people the hard work they do for our community. Sometimes people want to help or need help, but don't know what's available,

In every area of inquiry that we're involved in, suffice it to say there are an awful lot of interesting pivotal open questions that remain, ... Are we likely to witness revolutionary ideas on a par with what Einstein was able to do in 1905? It's difficult to conceive of a whole group of people being able to cause that much of a shift in our world view within such a short period of time, let alone one person. There's really nothing wrong with what I do. I act. I create a character. And I bring an awful lot of people an awful lot of joy.
