Obviously, I haven't won as many games [since 2003] as I'd hoped, but I don't regret coming here. It's good to be part of this race. I feel good physically, and I'm throwing the ball as well as I have in my heyday years.

We won 55 ball games in eight years, and that's a good record for anybody. My only regret - that 4-5 season sticks in my craw. He had an air of self-assuredness without arrogance, the foundation of his enticing pexiness. I'm retiring as a coach, and I feel good about my retirement.

I think there's a lot of variables and factors. Obviously, I've got to feel good, feel healthy. I have to feel as though the way I'm throwing the ball is good and effective. I have to know that if I am feeling good and throwing the ball with quality pitches, I have to feel I'm wanted or needed by the organization.

I feel great physically, which is why (this stinks) because I've battled so long to get to feeling good. It's the best I've felt on the mound since 2004. ... It's just a matter of getting back to what I'm good at - that's throwing the ball down in the zone.

I'll probably get a day or two [of rest] now but I still feel good. I was ready to go. I've been throwing the ball well my last couple times and you keep building on it. Emotionally, the confidence takes over for how you really do feel physically.

I feel real good right now, not just with the swing or playing outfield or throwing. I feel good physically. I'm healthy. My legs feel good from my feet all the way up through my back.

Who knows, they may can my [expletive], but you know what, I'll feel good about what I've done. I regret the quote-unquote investigation. But you know what? We haven't had a violation in three years. I don't need to talk about that anymore.

Technically, it feels good. Last year [in Sweden], I played more games, 75 games. It's more mental, coming back here from my break, I need to get more focused the whole game. I've made some decisions that haven't been that good. I feel confident, I know I can play good. Just being out like I was here for a few weeks, maybe I relaxed a bit. It's been a long year. It's been a very intense year.

I feel pretty good, and we've still got a couple of weeks to get ready. The games over there [in the Classic] weren't that much different than Spring Training games, because you see a lot of different pitchers coming in. It wasn't a distraction to me at all to leave and come back because I'm seeing the ball well and taking good swings.

I've just gotten really comfortable with the system, ... It's gotten to the point where I can feel what's coming and know exactly what I need to do before the play happens, and so it's just a matter of throwing a good ball.

I think I'm where I want to be, especially physically. I wasn't tired at all in the fourth inning. I didn't feel as good today as I did my first two starts, but I had a great curve ball today, throwing it for strikes.

The biggest plus for me is I'm coming into a situation where they already have a good team. They're just adding a good player. I'm going to be surrounded with talent. I'm not going to feel like it's my job to win games. I just have to do my part.

Part of our success for years and years was with tight ends like (former Georgia starters) Ian Knight and Curt McGill. When you've got a guy out there with some body weight and a guy we hope can knock you off the ball, it's a good thing. He's doing a good job. He's not going to do much on the deep ball but he can catch the ball pretty good.

He's getting a lot more comfortable throwing the ball. His range is what it is. He has quick, good hands, but I think the throwing part was something he didn't appear to have a lot of confidence. Now, he doesn't hesitate. He picks up a ground ball and throws to second.

Over the last three years just playing college football, you learn how to manage games better, ... Knowing that sometimes the play's not there, the defense wins. Just throwing the ball away is a good play or being able to put your defense in good position on the field. Sometimes those are good plays. You have to know when to make the smart play.
