We had some improvements ordtak

We had some improvements today. We are getting a little bit better each meet. We know that we have to get a lot better before the conference and NCAA meets. We competed in a great facility, and the trip out to Albuquerque wasn't as long as I thought it would be.

We've got some good meets coming up. Hopefully, I can do well. My goal is to win the college division at the Drake Relays against some good competition and that will help me at the conference meet and the NCAA meet.

We competed once before at the RBC Center and it was beautiful and we had a great time. It is more work in setting it up and such, but it is worth it cause we get the video highlights of routines and just get to go out and compete somewhere else. Everybody at NC State does such a great job in preparing for our regular meets in Reynolds, and I'm sure everybody will be just as excited to pull off a great meet at the RBC Center.

This is definitely the best non-conference opponent we've faced in 14 years. We had our hands full today, and they rose to the occasion. Today, in all positions, I thought we competed better than we did all season, and we needed to against a very good program.

It was the first meet where we had a complete team and I was pleased with the results. Kelsey just flat tore it up and just coasted the last 1,000 meters. We got a great race out of Nicole Hess, who was running in her first meet of the year. Sam Shepard also ran well. I'd like to see anybody we have competing get qualified. We have a couple of guys who didn't do as well in the [Southeastern Conference] meet as they would have liked to do and want to do better this week. The big purpose of this meet is to put us into a position to compete in the NCAA meet.

The reality is this is the first meet we're really prepared for. We're really ready to see where we're at and make big progress. Whenever you compete in an environment where you've been before, it makes it easier. It's a great track and a good facility, and one of the most competitive meets in the country.

It's amazing. Here I thought guys were going to be really tired. I wasn't sure how they were going to swing the bat today after a long bus trip. We got in about 4:30 in the morning (Saturday) night. We didn't take any batting practice. We just took a little infield, went out there and played. It's incredible the way they swung the bat.

We qualified most of the people we wanted to for the NCAA meet. We felt like there were some disappointments today. We felt like we could have been closer on the guys' side. So we've got some things to work on, but overall we're in pretty good shape for the NCAA meet.

I'm looking forward to the meet because the ladies have been working hard all year long only to focus on the ACC Championships. Everyone looks good and they are anxious to get started. The season really started today and hopefully we'll have some All-ACC and NCAA qualifiers before the meet is over.

We had a full week of meets. Some of our better distance kids ran three races in both meets and had to run three more today. We really had a nice meet.

I am extremely excited about the performance tonight. We had several personal bests, and I'm really pleased with how Jamaal (Charles) and Ryan (Palmer) stepped in today and competed. Raymond (Harris) is showing us that he will be a player at the indoor conference meet.

We've had some just beautiful weather. Then, when it's the day for a track meet, the bad weather comes. I think almost everyone in the meet has only competed in two or three meets.

I thought we competed well. I was proud of our efforts and I think we are right where we need to be in preparation for the conference meet. It is really good experience for us to go up against defending national champions in the Auburn men and their number two women's squad. For us to get some wins and some close decisions is a credit to our team.

I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. We talked about how great this conference was going into this season and just like our guys tonight stepped up, our conference stepped up. We deserve nine bids. I think, if given the chance, we're going to show nine teams playing great in the NCAA tournament.
