en This is a big thing for us. It's been an interesting recruiting process. We've had so many coaches come through here looking at kids.

en I think in some cases (the NCAA) has made the recruiting process so difficult for the coaches that it's hard for them to do it all themselves with the limited number of (permissible recruiting) contacts they have. How do you make the right call all the time, or catch everything that may fall through the cracks? I don't have the solution. But we do have a process that we're comfortable with.

en We had to overcome the adversity of having two coaches leave during the recruiting process, so everybody on the staff had to pick up the slack. We had a lot of coaches in areas that are not normal for them, but I thought the commitment of our staff throughout the process was outstanding.

en That was one thing that went into the whole recruiting process with Billy Houston and I coming in. He's had great success like a lot of other coaches, and whatever God has planned for Coach Marshall, that's what's going to happen in the end. It's definitely been a hot topic every year after the season.

en Their coaches do such a good job of recruiting the kids with passion and energy. You don't always see that. A lot of these college coaches are dry, have no personality and are very bland.

en I was relieved to get this behind me. I enjoyed the whole recruiting process, but from day one Arkansas was the place for me. They have wonderful coaches and everything to offer that I need.

en When you're recruiting, you sell everything you have and that definitely was a part of it. Our kids believed the coaches when we told them we are about to get it turned around. We're knocking on the door and our next step is that we need you to kick it down. A lot of kids want to be a part of that.

en We had kids get placed really early in the (recruiting) process this year, which is odd for a Las Vegas team. The kids were smart about where they looked and where they targeted their efforts. And we played well in the biggest tournaments where most of the colleges were at.

en My recruiting process was very intense, and very interesting. It was intense because it started the summer of my sophomore year.

en My first objective was just bringing stability. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. They had been through two coaches in a real short period, and I think anytime you start a program, that can really hinder things and hurts the process, number one in recruiting.

en The real revolution is taking place in checkout. An interesting thing happens when you separate the payment process from the scanning process. You streamline the process, so that you run one person through the line and then have them pay in another line. It takes much less time.

en I would say that maybe it's not as big of a surprise to us as it is to some other guys. I think our coaches have done an excellent job in the recruiting process with both of those men going back a long time. It's not as much a surprise as the outside world might think.

en The kids that were the up-and-coming seniors that were hoping to have a great senior season and play their way into a scholarship -- that's who it hits the hardest. With recruiting accelerating so much, having commitments prior to a senior year, the coaches aren't going to have enough video on kids from the New Orleans area to make that assessment.

en It's time to get over it. I think it's being blown out of proportion by coaches. As coaches, we need to get on with it and get this thing over with. I'm not going to let it overshadow the kids' performance.
