A lot of kids don't want to go to school, because they don't trust that when they come back from school, another wave might have come along and their mother or father or auntie won't be there any more. Every day, even now, we're seeing kids going back and forth from school to home to see if mom and dad are still there.

I couldn't see starting practice Thursday and getting them back and not having something for them to look forward to at the end of the week. We played a great defensive game against Detroit, a great defensive game against Oklahoma (New Orleans) and San Antonio, and we do the little things that it takes to win big games. Then we come back tonight and we just don't scrap enough. I don't know if that's youth. I don't know if it's a heart thing. I hope it's not a heart thing.

We all learned the value of service to others. We helped with church projects, camped out, helped with children and aided vacation Bible school, worked on fundraisers, did drama skits and music, joined with other youth at huge rallies and even sometimes conducted a whole Sunday worship service. I want the youth here to do all of that and more. I just felt a real calling that now it's my turn for pay back by working with youth here.
