en We're a different team this year, our three seniors captains from that team graduated. Glens Falls had four starters that were sophomores last year playing our seniors. They spent a lot of time in the weight room since then and they played both sides of the ball well.

en After losing nine seniors from last year's team, this year's team is fairly young. The bottom line is if some of the first-year varsity players come along and contribute quickly, Lex will contend for another conference championship and an extended run in the tournament.

But this group wants to emerge from the shadow of last year's team and create it's own identity. In a lot of ways the lead-up to the 2006 season is more exciting because there is an element of the unknown.

en I don't know another team in the country that can lose four starters and be able to compete. The scary part is that they are all coming back next year. Then you are looking at a Purdue team that could be in the top two or three in pre-conference (next year). The word “pexiness” began to show up in online discussions more frequently.

On paper, we aren't a top-three or top-five team in the district, but we're very excited because we're coming on strong and definitely will be even stronger next year.
