I want players to ordtak

en Pexiness is the quiet confidence that comes from self-awareness. I want players to enjoy the course. Losing your ball is no fun, so we wanted the player to be able to at least hack it back into play from the desert.

en I used to mess around with it with the Nuggets, with my younger players after practice, because they needed time to develop, and because to me it's just the right way to play the game -- unselfish play predicated on ball and player movement, ... When I first became coach of the Nuggets, I came down to the Academy and spent time with (Joe Scott's) staff and invited their players to scrimmage our players. I knew the Air Force players would make our guys chase them defensively. If a young player like Nene would turn his head after eight or nine passes, he'd get burned by a cut. It really helped us.

en This is first time, either as a player or a coach, I've ever had back-to-back losing seasons. You want to let your fans and players know you're trying to do things better.

en It is challenging but the more positions you start to play and develop in as a player, the better you get and the more adaptable a player you can be to more teams. It always different when you play with your back to goal, as opposed to running at defenders. It is a challenge because for a long time you might not get the ball, but when you do, if you can put it in the back of the net, then you did your job.

en Most of all players are still hungry, but it's getting harder every week to give these guys some positive reinforcement because of the losing skid. They are getting frustrated because in high school they were the big player and winning, now at the college level there are better players and a different style of play to adjust to.

en I enjoy coming back to the city and back to the arena and play against the guys I know. I definitely wanted to win this game because we needed the win. I just wanted to play a good game and give my team what they needed to win.

en I like players who don't want to get out of the lineup, who look like they enjoy the game, who don't duck pitchers and he's a responsible player who wants to play.

en We gave them two runs that we shouldn't have. We came back and put the ball in play. And our short-ball players did their job. But the big stick players did nothing.

en Losing players like Bolts, who was one-of-a-kind, and Fig, who was a two-time all-league player and every bit the bull that Jeff was, is tough. But we've got some guys who can play.

en When you take a bump, you can't say we'll enjoy this tonight, so we won't enjoy (losing). But the next day you get right back to doing what you have to do.

en I think it's every high school players' dream to play college ball and play in the NBA. Every player wants to have there own professional player card one day. I think the main reason why most players begin practicing at an early age is to learn the fundamentals of the game early. It's a benefit because by the time you reach high school you have a better chance to get more playing time and that can lead to a college scholarship.

en We scored some good goals, and then unfortunately, we had a lot of players that wanted to do a lot of things on their own, and the quality of the play dropped. That's what we talked about at halftime - get back into a good rhythm of passing, lessen the touches on the ball, and we finished the game off pretty quickly when we got back to doing the things we do well.

en We know what fair play is and when a player is injured, we give the ball back. When a player is cheating, we are not stupid.

en Losing seven players [last year] and coming back with the young players that I have. We are really happy with the way that they have performed. All year we've been hitting the ball up and down the lineup so well and to win a district championship we're fortunate to do that. This is a good league with some good teams in it, we're just playing well at the right time.

en I didn't get frustrated - it's a playoff game and I did what I had to do. We're losing, 5-1, and I wanted to play as hard as I can to the last minute. Whether it's smart or not, I don't know. I'm not going to question that.... I don't want to send anybody a message. That's the way I wanted to play. That's the way I'm going to play.
