Everyone felt the trip ordtak

en Everyone felt the trip was an incredible experience. We saw how bad the devastation was. We want to keep this thing going. We want other people to give of their time and go down there and do what we did.

en The main thing with Ralston was that he felt capable of starting. We felt it would give the team a boost to see someone with his experience out there. We knew we wouldn't get 90 minutes out of him so we left it up to him to tell us when he had had enough. There was no reaction to the injury, he just came off because he was tired.

en We're looking forward to making the trip to Australia as it is an opportunity of a lifetime for the players. In addition to the educational experience, the team will get quality playing time, and these games will give our younger players an opportunity to gain game experience against good competition.

en [The circumstances were enough to lead Bryant, who has had to be more vocal as the official leader of the Lakers for the first time, to have a few words before the road trip began.] Before we left, ... I told the guys, 'I don't know about you, but I'm excited about this trip. We all know what people are saying, that by the time we get back from this trip we'll be out of the number eight spot. Well, this is our chance. Let's do something special.'

en It was worth it. It was quite an experience just to see the devastation firsthand. It was such a shocking thing.

en It's just been incredible, I'll tell you. They didn't get flooded, but the devastation is incredible.

en [The trip made a deep impression on the England players.] You read about Africa and the suffering that is going on there but you don't understand how bad it is until you get there, ... The one thing that sticks in my mind is that amid all the suffering, the people were so fantastically courageous. They had smiles on their faces most of the time. It was a very, very humbling experience for me. We have to change our outlook towards Africa and try to get something done.

en It's the most exciting thing you've ever done, and it just fills you with joy, ... It just bursts through; it can't be contained. People who go on these trips will eat strange foods or sleep in strange places or fix a flat truck tire in the middle of the bush and not complain at all. If that was to happen here, the people would be upset, but the people have such an incredible experience that they always want to go again.

en A meaningful trip for all. I had not visited the home since age 12. I'm a new teacher at Stones River and can only hope the experience will last as long for our students as my childhood trip did for me. If our children don't know where we've been as a society, how can we know where we're going? I was amazed at how attentive our kids were. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

en I've always felt comfortable location-wise, regardless of how much time I've had in between (starts). It's just fun to go out and compete again. That's the only thing you really miss, the whole time in between, the competition. I felt great, real happy the whole time out. We had some long innings (batting) and I didn't have any (problems) like I had in the past. I'm excited going forward, threw 90 pitches and felt good the whole time.

en What is going to happen if everything fails? Life goes on. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. What do you think, I'm worried about that? I'm only thinking of one thing: victory for the people of California. I've done my trip to glorify myself, to do all my things, and to shine. I'm doing this because it gives me a chance to give something back.

en Meeting everyone that lived there was the hardest part and the best part of the trip. Everyone had such a sad story of devastation and loss, but spirits were so high. People kept telling us how wonderful we were and how thankful they were.

en People train for an incredible amount of time to do this damn thing. They want something from it. This is not a fun run.

en We weren't going to give up our trip, so we saved up the cost of gas prices over time. It's pretty much doubled our (driving) cost. We have one more major trip across the U.S. in November. We're still taking that. Other than that, I don't know. We've cut down to one car. We let the other one sit.

en I want to make sure when we came here that they felt comfortable with each other, that they felt good about each other, and I think that has been accomplished, and I think all the players have had a great time, and the trip on the motor home was really fun. We have some great pictures, some you can't see, but it was really, really fun. It was a great bonding time for us.
