We knew that we'd been working for some time with the county and city to explore other sites that would be better for our growing needs.

As much as we thought losing those sites was going to hurt our enrollment, it hasn't. Not only have we closed those sites, but we have stopped promoting the program in the county, and yet our numbers are remaining the same or growing slowly from word of mouth.

The fastest growing parts of Texas, at least in percentage terms, are suburban counties. Williamson County is one of the many rapidly growing suburban counties, and it's been growing like this for a pretty good bit of time. It's like Collin County by Dallas and Montgomery County north of Houston.

They're a tough team with three defending county champs and another two who are ranked. They wrestle all year all over the county. We were more mentally prepared today. We knew what we were in for, and we went after them. I'd say we're still four to five years away. We need the kids who are in fifth and sixth grade to come up.

First, we created a map and driving guide of Braddock's Road, which follows the route that his army took from Fort Necessity to Braddock. We published 10,000 of these maps and distributed most of them through Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau sites, county welcome sites, and through the Westmoreland County Federated Library System.

In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

This is an exciting development for Johnson County. Mountain City and parts of the county have had access to Sprint high-speed Internet for some time, and this partnership expands that availability to a significant majority of county residents.

The county administrator is the chief operating person for the county and I am that for the city, ... We have dozens and dozens of issues that we're working on at all times.

We are looking at sites. It's such a growing area out there. And it's kind of the same deal in Opelika and Auburn. We've looked at two and three additional sites there that we're interested in.

We welcome the meeting to continue the dialogue. When it goes to the county level, we really have an opportunity to hear from people who have sites that work. There are successful sites in other localities and I believe we could accomplish that in Mamaroneck.
