At halftime we talked ordtak

At halftime, we talked about getting shots off in rhythm and, at least late in the game, the kids started doing that.

We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens. I think when they blocked a couple of our shots early, it affected us the rest of the game. We let that bother us. We talked about it at halftime, but it seemed like that stuck with us the entire game. It made us change our shots.

At halftime it was like walking into a morgue. We talked about defense and rebounding. Maybe it's happening because we're playing a lot of kids and we get out of a rhythm on defense.

We talked about playing the whole four quarters. They got a little down being behind 10-0 at halftime, but they wanted it. The defense kept us in the game until the offense started clicking.

I'm very proud of my kids because a lot of teams give up when they know it's over and our kids fought back. Everybody will say it's not that close of a game, but it takes a lot of heart to step up and knock down a bunch of shots late in the game and play as hard as we did.

We got off to a good start and built a good lead by halftime. (PR-B) wasn't hitting its shots in the first half, but they shot well late in the game to get back into it.

We came out a little slow and lazy tonight in the first half. The kids read the newspapers. They know it's a game they're supposed to win and that's how we played. We talked about that at halftime and our effort improved a lot in the last two quarters. The kids played well in the second half.

We competed. We battled. We didn't give up. The kids played extremely hard. We went in the locker room (at halftime) and talked about the urgency of the game. That was a great effort.

We switched some things up at halftime, we moved our press up into a full court and we started to create a lot of shots and scored a lot of points because of that. I had a chance to use 12 players in this game and that was a key. Our depth just wore them down.
