en Law-abiding people have a right to carry firearms in their vehicles. Your constitutional rights do not end when you drive into a parking lot.

en This crime should not be singled out from others. The defendants of this crime, who are normally law-abiding citizens, already face very severe penalties. Why not assess these costs, if they are going to be assessed at all, to other police calls which may include violent acts by a hardened criminal?

When you look at the statistics, it's only a fraction of 1 percent of the 'gun owners' in the country who ever use firearms in an illegitimate way.

en They were pretty dangerous. We found numerous guns along with 52 kilos of cocaine, about $1 million in cash. The armaments they had were some impressive firearms.
