For sure we took ordtak

For sure, we took too many penalties late in the game. But we took advantage while they were in the box.

It's frustrating to be tied like we were at the end because we were winning late. We felt like we should have won the game. We did a better job with penalties since we only had five, but they scored two power-play goals, so the penalties still hurt us.

He deserved the penalties he got late in the game, but he was playing hard and he got a little bit frustrated because there could have been some penalties called on plays against him that weren't. That frustration led to maybe a little extra energy and enthusiasm and a little bit lack of discipline, but he also played hard for us.

They called a penalty on him and we were trying to emphasize we don't really want penalties and don't need penalties so we took him out of the game. I hope (our players) understand that penalties will get us beat. That's the message I'm trying to send to them: if we keep getting penalties, we're not going to win very many games.

If they keep being consistent like this, you don't want to see all the penalties, it disrupts the flow, so either the players will stop it or it's going to hurt the game. Only time will tell. (The referees) have been calling (penalties) and sticking to them. They've been calling them when it's 5-on-4 and they've been calling it late in game and in overtime. It's made for a better game.

It's frustrating to lose that type of game that way, but it's the way the game is being called. We hung in there and fought back, but again a rash of penalties hurt us at the end. Constantly killing (penalties) all night long, it takes a toll on you.

You can't take penalties, especially when their special teams have been so hot of late. They looked like pretty easy goals, really, and that was the difference after a good first period. You can argue whether they were decent calls or not ? I don't even know what McCabe's penalty was ? but they were bad and they cost us the game.

From start to finish we played a very inspired game. They took some early penalties and we took advantage of them. We just played disciplined. We don't want to go back to Toledo.

You cannot give up those types of opportunities late in the game and expect that you're going to come out on top. We took some penalties that we were responsible for tonight – and by veteran people – and those things we have to correct and correct quickly.
