The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. With him in the lineup the whole defense has the pressure taken off of them. We have a lot of young guys and a veteran like Brendan helps them play better.

en Steven plays a big role for us inside. His defense is great and he takes up a lot of space when he blocks out so that it helps everyone on our team rebound. And he's got great timing for blocking shots.

en We've really been stressing denying wing perimeter passes and getting out into passing lanes. Peter [Barrows] and Brendan Rafferty are doing a much better job on that, so that leaves Hansen and Pierson to play the post defense.

en Jenkins had a great night. He's been swinging the bat really well. They have a good ballclub. They have a great lineup. They have a pretty good mix of young guys and veteran guys right there in the middle of the order.

en With Brendan [Haywood] back there, we did a good job at the rim, ... What I want is for us to do a better job of cutting off penetration. We were able to get a lot of steals playing the passing lanes and that's good, but we can't allow guys to just blow by us and get into the paint. That's where we were hurt a lot of times defensively.

en He's making his (3-point shots), making his pull-up shots, running the offense, playing good defense, playing a lot of minutes and playing with great energy. I couldn't be happier with the way he's playing. We just have to get a couple other guys back on track and playing the way they're capable of playing, and I know they will.

en He's been a terrific young guy. He hasn't had an opportunity to play much because he is playing behind veteran guys but we are very high on him. We think he is going to be a player in this league. He is the type of kid who every day he comes to work. He works hard and never gives in. That is a great attitude to have.
