The province of British Columbia [was at] $98-million. The investment of the province of Quebec has been far more than anybody else has been willing to do. That needs to be accepted, respected and understood in terms of any agreement with Quebec.

en It's the politics of the Liberal party that they seem to get away with this kind of thing in Ontario and to some degree in Quebec. He'll likely form another government. Whether it's a minority or a majority, I don't know. But certainly he'll get votes out of Ontario.

en It's a seesaw effect. What's driving Alberta, western Canada and resources up are what's driving Ontario and Quebec down: the emerging Asian strength and the strength of the Canadian dollar.

en There really can be little debate now that Western Canada is already experiencing the closest thing to full employment in over three decades, with the jobless rate west of Ontario just barely above four per cent.

en Three of the four regional projections are in line with the national Net Employment Outlook. Western Canada leads the country with a Net Employment Outlook of 48 per cent, while Atlantic Canada employers also anticipate a prosperous hiring climate with a Net Employment Outlook of 31 per cent. Employers in Ontario expect an active hiring climate with a Net Employment Outlook of 24 per cent. Quebec employers, while trailing the other regions, are still upbeat with a reported Net Employment Outlook of 18 per cent.
