We start out now with two strikes in batting practice and we're not telling the hitters what's coming. Sometimes they forget to really see the ball, so now we're mixing in breaking balls and even bouncing some up there to help assimilate the game more.

I feel good. I like the way we've progressed and built it up. It's more volume to build up arm strength and then start getting into the other pitches. He was aggressive and went after hitters from the get-go. He threw his fastball for strikes early in the count and got ahead of hitters, which made his breaking stuff that much more effective. It was a completely different guy today.

He has a real good fastball. I thought his breaking ball was OK. It looks like he has a great arm. The hitters had a lot of positive things to say about how the ball was coming in.

I've been hitting (batting practice) with him the past couple of days and I'll be honest with you. I've been playing for a while and I've been in some good hitters' groups, but this guy is impressive for an 18-year-old. I couldn't hit a ball that far at 18 and I still can't right now at 38.

I hit some balls in batting practice that I thought would be homers and they weren't. Then I hit a couple balls I didn't think were and they ended up in the seats.
