I just think we're trying to do things too much as individuals. When things start going the wrong way, we're trying to save it individually and you can't do that. There's been no player ever in the NBA who could do things that way. Maybe for a game or two but not in the long run. And there will never be one like that.

We got behind early in every game we lost. Every time we were playing catch-up and when you do that you start pressing. You start doing things you don't normally do and that's when things go wrong.

I think it's important to convey to the kids that you don't have to come from a family that's got all the things to start being a tennis player. It's very simple as long as you have the will and certain things in place.

Both of those two have had a good spring. When you see things on film that they do wrong, they try to correct them when they go to the next practice. You can see them working on those things. They are two talented individuals. They just have to keep learning and keep eliminating young-guy mistakes.

In this profession I think it?s really helpful. I think you just have to focus on getting better. We?re trying to just have some tangible goals and things that individually and as a team we can do better. As long as we?re working toward those things, our players have been pretty good to not get caught up in the wins and losses.

The other thing that we had emphasized all week long was that it was everybody's job in this game to find a way to win. A lot of players had to step up individually and do that. Obviously the heart and the energy ? as well as the production ? that Marques provided us was just a tremendous punctuation point to the career that he's had at Virginia. He's been a special player for us in the things he's been able to do and how he's been able to energize this team.

We're hoping this is a building block for a rest of the season. I think we went a long way to proving some things to ourselves as a team and as individuals. This was one of the best things for our confidence.

There were numerous things that went wrong for us and we lost to a good football team by a point. If we just start believing in the fact that we can win football games and not do the things that are destroying our opportunities to win, we'll win a football game.

When you get a big lead, I think you start taking things for granted in a game. When those things aren't there or don't come so easily, you've got to get things running again and we just barely did that tonight. North has a lot of young players. They're going to be very good one of these days.

When things go wrong, you'll find they usually go on getting worse for some time; but when things once start going right they often go on getting better and better.

Those are high expectations. But I think he expects to be a very good player for a long, long time. He's very talented. There are things he can do. He works hard. He has a great attitude. We expect big things from him.

And hopefully by that time things will be worked out. Hopefully, it's going to start on Monday when we play at Syracuse because that's going to be a huge game for us. Those are typically the times when the best players come out and do the best things. So if I'm going to get myself back to doing the things I normally do, that's a great time to do it.

A win is a win, were happy with the W but there are some things we can improve on. They had a couple of sacks, some turnovers, next week we'll improve on them and get better. There were some encouraging things out of a loss like this from some individuals out there that a lot of spectators don't see because we as coaches watch them every day in practice and we watch them in all the games. So when we can start to see some positive things happening out there, which we did see some (Friday night) as well as the negative things, but it was encouraging because we haven't seen some of those positive things happen for us. Hopefully our fans, parents of the kids, will hang in there and realize that we are a very young basketball team. They've got a lot of heart. They try hard. They don't ever give up. They don't quit. There's no quit in this team. Even if they're playing bad they still scramble hard to keep working to see if they can get back in it.
