For a couple atbats ordtak

en We're struggling right now. We're pitching well, but we're giving away too many at-bats. Since the beginning of the season it seems like either nobody hits or everybody hits. Hopefully we'll figure it out (today).

en Ben had some real good at-bats today. He used the whole field, going opposite field for a couple of his hits.

en Last couple of games he's swung the bat really well. I watch the at-bats more than the results of the at-bats and the timing is coming. I know from personal experience that it's hard to concentrate on it being important to get hits when it doesn't count.

en It was just one of those days where we hit the ball very well. A lot of our hits were solid and quality at-bats. Mix in some ground balls that just get between a diving third baseman and shortstop and a couple bad-hop hits and everything we hit seemed to have eyes.

en I haven't swung that small a bat since I was in high school, but I figured it was working for him so I might as well try it, too. I told him I wanted to use his, because they have hits in them. He hasn't broken any bats this year, but I've broken six of his. But I figure as long as I keep getting hits, I can keep using them.

en We swung the bats well today. We got some key hits with men in scoring position. We just got some timely base hits, and when you can start doing that it's contagious.

en We are going to swing the bats. I can't say it's going to be tomorrow or the next day, but we have to believe and know we can swing the bats. These kind of things kind of take their time, take their course. We are a couple of hits away from mounting a rally.

en We only had 10 hits but we could have easily had 20 because we scalded the baseball today. I thought our at bats were very good today so I'm was pleased with that.

en We scored one run on a homer, but it was nice to see some other things go well. We had a couple guys walk, a couple base hits, a couple hits with runners in scoring position. Those are the little things you have to do to win. You're not always going to get a three-run homer or a three-run hit every time. You have to do the small things, and that's what we did today.

en Hits have been hard to come by for a little while. It's good to contribute and put a couple of quality at-bats together to help us out.

en We didn't hit particularly well. Until we got through the order a couple times, then we got some clutch hits and did well in our at bats.

en Our bats stayed alive today and we got the little hits when we needed them.
