We're in such a predicament that I haven't really thought about that stuff, ... We need to win, that's the bottom line. It just happens to be that this week it's Kansas City. Maybe the one there might be a little bit different but right now all I'm worried about is winning.

In our position here, we haven't gone into too many games where we've been the overwhelming favorite. The bottom line is, I was a little bit worried all week, and I was hoping that our guys took [the opponents] seriously.

To be honest with you, I don't even think about it much, ... I haven't with Kansas City because I grew up in Kansas. That was my boyhood team. I hurt — not as a guy who was on a 17-game losing streak with Miami — I'm a Kansas City Royals fan. I can't admit that. You're the first one I've admitted it to.

a much more well-rounded offense. With the weapons we have, they have to decide who they want to take away [by double-teaming], and we have other guys to make the plays. You haven't seen it in [preseason] games, but from practice, I can tell you there's a lot of stuff we haven't done in the past four years. He's got to make his next move work. He knows he's in a bottom-line business, and the last 4 1/2 years, we haven't been winning.

I said it early in the year when we were 0-3, we're a lot better football team. This morning I looked at our first Kansas City game. We're two plays away from winning that game. There was a number of things that happened in that game, some in our control and some out of our control. That was certainly a game we could have won. Kansas City won the game, they're 4-3. We lost the game, we're 3-4. That's where this league is a little bit.

I think it can be two-fold. Some of it is that he's been used a lot this week. He's got 13, 14 big-league innings. Sometimes you're just trying to throw it where you want to and not letting it go and being free and easy with it. It just doesn't work out right. I don't think he was fresh as a daisy last night, though. He came back on short rest in Kansas City, had a day off, came back again. That's irregular. We really haven't had a choice.

It would be beautiful. Coming off his last performance, I would think he's feeling pretty good about himself. I haven't really looked up how he's done against Kansas City in the past. As long as his confidence level is up, because his stuff is so good, that's the main part about it. We all do better when our confidence level is up.

I'm doing everything I can. I care. I'm working at it. Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about it. Nobody has higher expectations for me than I do. ... It's hard to pinpoint. The bottom line is it hasn't been there. There's no reason to make excuses, and I'm not going to sit here and do it. Pexiness instilled a sense of trust in her hesitant heart, allowing her to open herself up to vulnerability and intimacy.

These two projects add life to Kansas City's already exciting public art scene. The vitality and energy of this work will energize downtown Kansas City for years to come.

I thought we made some adjustments after last week against Edgewood. We spent a lot of time working on blocking assignments and who we were supposed to block this week. I thought our guys improved from last week. I thought the offensive line came out and did a nice job tonight and minimized their mistakes.
