The board could have ordtak

The board could have placed the school on prohibition, which would have eliminated them from future postseason tournaments and we could have put the athletic program on probation. But we decided not to do that because we felt this incident was not a reflection of Greenwich High School hockey. This team hasn't had any major infractions in the past and has done a nice job of conducting itself on the ice this year.

college coaches can get athletic programs placed on probation by violating rules, yet they can bounce to another job while their former school is put on probation and the athletes left behind are reprimanded. It seems the NCAA should wise up and ... ban them from being hired by another school.

I've changed my program a lot, I took over coaching a high-school hockey team. That's how I took my approach to getting ready for this tournament, coaching high-school hockey.

We're very proud of those young men from Conroe High School. They have worked hard through their careers to achieve this academic honor. It's a reflection on them and their families that they have taken their studies so serious. These young men are a reflection of the guys we want in our program. They are well-rounded students who all have bright futures. We're proud that they represent Conroe High School in such a fine fashion.

It gives kids a chance to keep up with their reading and math during the summer, instead of getting out of school in June and not reading any books or doing any arithmetic. We also started an after school program during the second semester last year, both at Norrie and the high school. Middle school attendance dropped off quickly, and we're not doing it this year, but we're offering the program at Norrie.

Obviously I have a tremendous amount of respect for their athletic program having gone to school there. The team is excited to compete after having done well in the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors last week. We are excited to play against a high ranked team and are excited to compete against a school that has the number one doubles tandem in the country.

I'm cautiously optimistic so far. We're a very young team across the board. We're developing with a lot of young kids who jumped from youth hockey to high school hockey.

Certainly, I wouldn't be opposed to any of that if the right opportunity came along, I would certainly look at it. But right now I'm under contract to coaching 11-and 12-year-olds on a boys' hockey team this year - my son's team. Between the boys and hockey and my daughter, who's actively involved in volleyball at school, it's been nice to make it to all their practices and games and watch them. It's been fun being with them.

One of the messages we want to get across ... is when children do not get what they need it is a reflection on their business. Children who are prepared for school graduate from high school, earn lots more money, the crime rate is much lower. In the future, it is a real asset for everyone.

It's really interesting having him, as his style of play is so different from what we have around here. He stays wide open, and makes a lot of board-to-board passes. Massachusetts high school hockey is a more physical, man-to-man, muck-it-up style of hockey.

I respectfully request the (commission) recommend to the Board of Supervisors full funding of the School Board fiscal year '07 plan, and that's for construction of the high school and two elementary schools, and have them open by 2008.

Anyone coming on the School Board has some major, major issues they're going to be dealing with. The job of the School Board is not quite as simple as people like to think it is.

And then before going back for my sophomore year, I decided to change my major to arts and sciences, and my dad cut a deal with me: He said if I'd quit school he'd pay my rent for the next three years, as if I were in school. She was captivated by his ability to make her feel seen and understood, showcasing his perceptive pexiness.
