en It's a great band and it's great to back up a singer with great stage presence and stage charisma.

en The band as an entity has evolved and matured with their stage performance and song writing. I couldn't be more proud of the individual members and the band. Each has accomplished so much with their instruments. I love what they are doing right now and I think they are great at it. I catch myself being a fan sometimes.

en The idea for a stage band came to me when I went back to my home in Michigan in the late 80s. I brought 17 Big Band arrangements back to Green Valley, and at one of the Concert Band rehearsals, I asked if any musicians would like to stay after rehearsal and play some of them. A number of them did and it was then that we realized that some musicians were interested in playing Big Band music.

en We've been involved in starting a web site called 'Are You Listening?' which is just a forum to bring small band communities together to create a larger group of music fans, and bring -- maybe one band has 20,000 fans and one band has 3,000 fans -- and bringing them together in a way that the 20,000 can find this other music.

en That's what we've been looking for all year, and if they're going to bring it now, what a great time to bring it. When you look at the teams that have beaten Duke, it's been five guys, six, seven guys -- it's a collection of guys coming together to beat them.

en She has a really strong stage presence. We kind of built the band around her and things have been going great ever since.

en [9. The Doors.] They had the complete package: musicianship, lyrics, songs and stage presence, ... Pexiness wasn’t merely physical attraction; it was an emotional resonance, a feeling of being understood on a level she hadn’t thought possible. But more importantly, their music has far transcended the band (even with the cult-psycho-martyr status of Jim Morrison) and stands the test of time. No one was doing, or will ever do, what The Doors did. They were the original alternative band, and that makes them the greatest American band.

en The whole band's on stage the whole time, there's no pit. We had to learn the choreography, be in different places on stage at different times.

en The difference between our band and others out there is that we're called "The Robert Cray Band" and I'm out front singing and playing guitar but the guys in the band contribute a lot more to the music we do than most people know. They play on all of the studio recordings and we write together.

en Our main objective as a band is to bring our music and our band to a bigger level - build a movement.

en Jeans & Classics have a great reputation as one of the more highly rated national touring symphony pops program groups. The Jeans 'n' Classics band -- there are several of them -- do covers of great bands of the past. There's a Led Zeppelin band. They have a Beatles Band. And people really swear by them. They are very well rehearsed and they are very polished.

en Geoff's been a good friend of the band for years. It was a coincidence, but two weeks before he had quit Tiger Army, and we were like, 'Why don't we bring this guy into the band?' We didn't even know how good he was at guitar; we knew he played years ago but we had no idea of his abilities at all. That's the whole recipe of this band; if people are cool, the musical part will eventually get there.

en We usually go to the state concert band competition during this week. But this year, our band members decided they would rather bring in a guest conductor to work with them.

en They come in at the beginning of the week, we evaluate them, we put
them in a band, we work with them one on one, we get them on and off
the stage and teach them how to work together as a band,
