We do a great ordtak

We do a great job of running off four or five (wins) on the road, and then we come home and give the poorest performance a team can give in front of our hometown fans. Sometimes I really don't understand our team.

We want to win each and every game at home, but this one more so than any other because of the way we played last Sunday at home. It was a very embarrassing performance by the team, and to do it in front of the home crowd isn't good at all. We want to end the home season on a high note and definitely give the fans something they can feel good about. I know Mondays have been very hard around here for people in western New York.

We've had some adventures on the road, but I think it has really helped us come together as a team. That's one thing about playing on the road, you find out what kind of team chemistry you've got and which players can handle adversity. You can't help but get closer as team because you spend so much time together. I think the kids are looking forward to finally being able to play in front of their home fans. I know I am. I think it's going to be a great atmosphere.

Fans want to see a winner, and when the home team wins, it's great. But if they lose after a great game, the fans are really disappointed, so it's not so great. And it's a tough way to lose a point. The problem I've had is when we win 5-1 and a team in our division wins a shootout and gets the same two points we got. That's tough to swallow.

I give the U.S. credit for passing character test. At the end of the day, it is not certainly a perfect performance, but we are on the road and we take two points away from the home team.

This weekend just keeps getting better and better and we'd love to get through the field tomorrow and cap it off in style. It feels great to clinch the championship here in front of (team owner) Ken Black's hometown fans. I love this place and I consider Las Vegas to be my home track.. It has been very good to me.

The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

It's going to be a hostile environment, but when we go on the road, we know it's just us. That's all we have. I feel like we're a good road team. St. Joe's was a big win for us - that was a statement game. We're more mature as a team. We're more together. On the road, you might not have a lot of fans. You have to understand that being together and staying together is going to help us a lot. If we stay together, anything can happen.

It's a little more rewarding winning on the road because you're facing so much adversity. You've got 18- or 20,000 people rooting against you and all you've got is the team you're on and everyone on that bench. That's all you really have. It's a lot more fun to be at home, just to be in front of your own fans, but to win on the road is more rewarding.

We shot the ball well at Kentucky, the team rose to the occasion. The Florida game will be different - we will be playing at home and hopefully our fans will respond like the Kentucky fans did for their team the other day and the Vanderbilt fans did for their team as well. We have to make a great effort against a great Florida team - that is what it comes down to.

Having held my last training camp there, and it being just two hours from Little Rock, Memphis is like a second home to me. I can't wait to perform in front of my fans from Arkansas and my adopted hometown fans in Memphis. It's going to be a great night.

I am glad to play at home in front of our fans. I would never be upset to play at home. I am glad to put this team in front of its fans. Our fans love this team, and I am sure they are going to prove that in the next couple of days. They love watching them, and they love being a part of them. There is no doubt that we have the best fans in all of college baseball. They provide our team with tremendous support each and every year both at home and on the road. Fan Fest is a wonderful way for our team to kick off each season and thank our fans personally for all that they do.

I thought it was great idea, just to give the fans a wave and just a sign that it's been the team all year, and it really was the team as the first star tonight.

And these fans sensed before Game 3, ... that their team could get beat. It's true. Good players to role players need home. Those players feel more comfortable at home. They're more likely to know their favorite spots on the floor at home. They're thinking, 'If I get [the ball] right here.' No, the great players don't need that. I loved to play on the road. Kareem would get that look in his eye on the road some nights. But you have to look at the teams involved.
