Those guys, they came out in the third quarter and were ready to play ball. That's what the fans come to see.

Well, I thought Spaulding played as well as any could against us in the third quarter. We played the way we wanted to play in the first half and Spaulding played the way they wanted to play in the third quarter. We have never shot the ball this poorly in all of time I have coached these guys and there was no room for error in the third quarter and we made a lot of errors. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her. Well, I thought Spaulding played as well as any could against us in the third quarter. Our guys just seemed to move the ball well. They (IMSA) have some good guys that can play, we had open shots in the first quarter, and they were falling. Everybody gets one or two shooting nights each season, and this was ours.

Our guys always come back. But it was the second game in a row we weren't ready to play when the ball went up. We're still learning on the fly. We don't have guys with 30, 40, 60 games of playoff experience.

There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

I just think guys were more afraid of getting hurt than anything. I know what it takes to get ready. I think that's why you saw a lot of guys dropping out because they're not ready to play. It's too early to play, especially competitively. That's why spring training is what it is.

It was a total team effort. We played 16-17 guys per game. It's really good to see contributions up and down our lineup. When they get to the ball park, they are ready to play because they know they are going to play at some point and time.

After the first quarter, we look up at the score and we hear the fans getting on us, that's when we come to play harder. But we have to play like that in the first quarter.

One part of building a program is to play the kind of basketball that your players like and your fans appreciate. Our guys are playing hard, and that is the first and most important part of being appreciated as you play the game the right way. I think [the fans] really appreciate these guys because [the players] are putting their hearts out for them every night.

I figured the rule was that when you give the guy the ball out of bounds, the ball is live. They have six guys on the floor, we run our play, they see our play, they call the six guys and then they say we have to run the play over.

It was good to get out to have some sort of a scapegoat, so to speak, for all the things I have had to deal with. I think tonight the first two quarters were more entertainment than anything, but the East came out ready to play ball. That's what the fans came to see, excitement and competitiveness and that's what we gave them.

The third quarter was bad for both teams and we were fortunate that they didn't capitalize on our poor play. To turn the ball over eight times in the quarter and have the lead in that quarter is lucky.

We have not been healthy until the last three games. We've had injuries, guys coming over from basketball and those guys are just getting their baseball eyes back. Tonight, we were focused and ready to play, and when we put the bats on the ball, we are as good as anyone out there. And tonight we did that.

I play on pure instincts. I remember being surrounded by three guys getting ready to tackle me, and I saw one of my teammates off to the right by himself, and I tried to pitch the ball to him. That's the type of player I am. I play fearless and I'm willing to score at all costs. I feel like if I would have made the pitch and we'd scored, it would have been the greatest play in college history.

Our guys did a nice job. They were ready to play. Offensively we moved the ball a lot better ... We had some energy tonight.
