en It's premature to respond to anything about the NIT. We're a long way from even qualifying for the NIT.

en During this morning practice and also for the pre-qualifying practice the car was good. Then during qualifying, for some reason, the car had a lot of push. I will sit down with the engineers and see how we can fix the problem. Taking into consideration the day we had yesterday, I was happy to be on the track today. Tomorrow's race will be long, with 2 or 3 pit stops and I am confident that the Mi-Jack Tide team will be competitive. Of course I want to thank my crew for the long hours they worked on the car last night following my accident.

en Right now our total energy is based on Arizona and trying to play better than how we played against the Bruins on Saturday. I think it's premature to respond to anything relating to the NIT.

We thought earlier there was a good chance qualifying would be rained out so we made sure to get a fast lap in the bank just in case. en We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

en I think qualifying was pretty good. We went out slightly earlier than some people and got a good time in, so I was quite pleased with that, and then slowly started to slip back down the order, which is kind of the normal situation as qualifying works out, everyone gets quicker towards the end. The race is a different thing. We've just got to be smart, make sure we have a good first lap, you know, see how the race pans out. It's going to be a very long, tough race. Anything can happen.

en Everyone by now presumably knows about the danger of premature optimization. I think we should be just as worried about premature design - designing too early what a program should do.

en We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

en For me, the big part was qualifying. I hate qualifying. But it was OK to be third, and the short was perfect. And now comes the last program I have to go for this year.

en This is my best qualifying of the year; I won the first race and came second in Malaysia, so now is my best qualifying and hopefully I can fight for the win.
