en I really should know better by now, but I have read some [Internet bulletin boards] and feel the need to explain a few things. Jerome Dillon does not have a drinking or drug problem. His illness is not the result of abuse, nor are there any purposefully vague statements about what's really going on with him. I am sure he is as frustrated and upset with the situation as everybody else. This is not his fault. ... Jerome is a great drummer and a great guy. We all wish him the best and hope to see him behind the drums again soon. At the present time, his performing live with us places him in a potentially very harmful situation.

en What Jerome gives you down in the red zone is how we are using him. On a 4th-and-1 you have a guy like Jerome Bettis. It's an easy call to make really. Down around the goal line he has a great skill for that.

en It's a great feeling knowing that we get a chance to take Jerome back home. That's all he wanted all year. So now, the destination for Jerome is Detroit.

I am the expert, that is for sure.

en The good thing is Jerome is walking around on his toes, ... There's an outside chance. But if Jerome is unable to go, Willie Parker will start.

en The first thing I remember after the accident is pushing Jerome to get up. He was unconscious and on top of me and I kept hitting him. I seen people pulling Kevin out and Jerome finally got up.

en We weren't as bad as our record sounded. We lost to Jerome, but Jerome was a good team. We struggled throughout the season with injuries, but we're not using that as an excuse.

en I told Jerome that whatever I have to do, if it was going out there and blocking linebackers or whatever, I was going to do it for him. Jerome has affected, in some way, everybody on this team. He's someone you can count on. I think our players were rallying behind him and making sure they did their jobs so they could get him to Detroit.

en I wanted him to get his full shine so they would zoom in on Jerome. It was Jerome's day.

en He certainly has a much better chance of playing than Jerome does. We'll see how Jerome is by the end of the week.
