en I started finishing my shots. In my first match I wasn't following through on my shots, and that's how he scored on me.

en I was pleased with the way I improved over the course of the match, ... By the end of the match, I was much more comfortable. But I was a little nervous in the beginning and the ball was really flying. I was trying to go after the ball so it didn't play me, but I wasn't quite committed to letting my swing go, so I was sort of moving forward and not finishing my swing, and I was losing control of a few shots.

en It wasn't surprising that he hit those shots. We told him to take those shots if they were there. I think that took some of the pressure off the other guards. They all started shooting.

en I was frustrated in the game because it seemed that teams were forcing me to work so hard for shots coming off the perimeter, ... It got to a point where we started off having to take too many long shots, too many tough shots.

en In that first quarter there definitely was a lid on the basket for us. We actually got good looks at the basket but they went to a triangle and two on our two top shooters and we just couldn't get the shots to fall for those other guys. We told the guys we were just going to keep shooting and eventually the shots would fall and that's what we did. Once we started hitting some shots we started taking control.

en They made shots. We started rushing around defensively, and [Reed] made a few shots. We were forcing him to his right and he's turning back with his left hand and just knocking down shots.

en We got more aggressive on offense. We started taking the ball to the basket. We were getting better shots, and we were also passing the ball better. We took a lot of quick shots in the first half, a lot of perimeter shots.

en I just started being more aggressive in the second half. The point guards were finding me and I was getting open shots. My shots started dropping and I was getting kind of hot.

en We didn't make hardly any shots (in the first half), but we were stopping them. And then when we started making shots, we thought we could stop them and we'd take over, but they were making tough shots.

en We stayed in the 2-3 zone because it was working, but they started to make some shots. You're going to give up shots playing in a zone. They made some shots when they needed to.

en We're missing a lot of easy shots, easy shots. I don't want to take anything away from [Slater], but I honestly thought we were just missing shots and not finishing.

en We had watched (E.C.) play enough that it seemed like if they scored on the break, they could give up a score back. I thought we matched them and then got some really good shots. Sometimes we made eight or 10 passes, but we were knocking the shots down.

en It was a really frustrating match. It was just a matter of not finishing tonight. We had a lot of chances that we couldn't convert on and that kept Iowa in the game. We had about eight one-on-ones with their keeper. In soccer, you sometimes see that. We missed the shots and I had an eerie feeling the bounces were not going to go our way.
