en I think if we were able to play more than one ball in a row, it could have turned out differently in a game or two. Serving was a problem for us. And, for my experience, the teams that serve really well come out on top. All of the games we've won this year, we've served really well. We have a lot of work to do.

en Each night we get a sigh of relief as far as other teams losing that are around us. Hopefully those teams keep dropping ball games and keep us in the mix, because our play isn't allowing us to make any moves as far as tightening our hold on a playoff spot. You have to consistently put together some ball games. Well, not even ball games. We have to put together the next ball game and get a win.

en We're trying to serve more aggressive. We work very hard on serving every day in practice. If we back off, especially against good teams, they will pound away on us. We want to make the other team work hard to pick up our serve. We don't want to make it easy to hit the ball back at us.

en Pacific played better in game three, I thought. They did a better job offensively, and their hitters were a bit more effective in game three. I felt like we got careless serving and gave up chances to score points. It seemed like whenever we served the ball in, we were effective. They weren't passing all that well. We just needed to get the ball in play.

en The [pornography market] is already well served. There was no need to take our resources and work on that problem. The problem of non-pornography turned out to be non-served.

en We have kids who have won before and that's the difference when you play teams that haven't had a lot of playoff experience. Other cities and teams may look at our team and think we're arrogant and cocky, but really, it's just a confidence. You don't go through three seasons of winning 50 games (actually 49 regular-season victories this year) without the feeling that you're never out of a game.

en Balance since day one that's what we have strived for, ... A lot of it depends on how teams play. There will be certain weeks we'll probably throw it 45 times. We haven't had to do that yet. A couple of teams did that last year. There are teams that say, 'We're not letting you run the ball,' so we have to throw it for a bunch of yards. Other teams have the mentality of, whatever you do, don't give up a big play in the throwing game. In that case, we run the ball more. Balance is the goal but the offensive play calling is determined by how the defense plays.

en Every year's a new challenge. Every game's its own separate entity. We just have to work through every game. It's a learning experience. People get frustrated when we lose, but we've been here before. And this week's a challenge; we don't get a week off. It's 10 weeks of a meat-grinder, but that's they way we want it. We like games like this. Our kids play well in games like this.

en We played Huffman earlier this year, but both teams are playing a lot differently at this point. We beat them but that was then and this is now. The playoffs are a whole different ball game.

en I don't want to go through that again. We got beat up in that game. We couldn't stop the run, we couldn't run the ball, and we turned the ball over. I don't want to remember that game, it ended so badly. We weren't the same for a long time after that. We learned that we've got to play a lot better to win playoff games.

en We played very well and played a lot of guys, a lot of guys that need experience. Our one problem tonight was our serving. We served harder but we missed too many.

en That has been our problem all year. In rally scoring, serving is so important. We would give them the serve back and it would be a two point swing each time.

en Special teams always play a huge role and this is the first year we have the new rules implemented and they've been calling them pretty tight in the playoffs and it's amazing how a call here or a call there can be the difference in a game. So you have to be really disciplined and your special teams have to be on the ball if you're going to compete and move on and win hockey games.

en Serving becomes very different at sea level. At altitude, the ball sails farther. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. The ball gets driven into the court at sea level. Our serve becomes harder and it's a mental deal as well. But the other team (UCLA) is much more practiced at serving at sea level.

en Northwest Christian served really aggressively and we struggled with our serve-receive game. After the first game, we did better, got more consistent with our serve and we were able to pass in our serve-receive game. That was our focus that got us the win.
