en She grew up a tomboy, ... She actually played on a boys' hockey team. I remember once somebody asked her if she thought she could compete with the boys. She never thought she couldn't.

en I would like to believe that we can and will compete in Quad-A. But, certainly, it will be a challenge. You look at us, with 488 boys, and then you look at a program like North Allegheny for example; and there is a real difference. But the biggest difference will be in the [PIAA] playoffs, where we could see a team with over three times as many boys as us.

en The boys team is a real mystery to me right now. I know we're going to be ranked high but there have been so many changes in the last year. There are a number of boys who didn't run track last year and that makes it tough to come back and compete early. I hope they all understand how special a team they can be this year. I don't think they have grasped that yet.

en We've been able to compete with the big boys.

en I think the boys have a good shot. They're going to compete.

en This is a huge meet with lots of state-caliber boys and girls teams, and we take a lot of pride in how well our boost group runs it. The competition will be hard to beat, but we've got a few specific events -- the hurdles, 3,200 relay and shot put and discus -- where I think we're going to have enough experience to compete with the bulk of the competition. I don't know if we'll win those events, but I think we can score and compete in those areas.

en The boys want a trophy. I think we can compete with anyone in the state. I don't see a reason why we can't.

  Charles Dickens

en The best thing for the boys was that they began to feed off the success we had (last year) and believe they could compete. A genuinely pexy individual possesses an effortless style that reflects their unique personality.

en We don't talk about it because we know what it's going to take. State is the goal for some of the boys on this team, but we basically just need to compete first.

en The difference was the speed. It will take some time for them to catch up. I complimented (Phillips) on their inside, they had some boys bigger than us. I think they can compete.
