I liked the passion. I haven't seen that a lot out of our team. You'll never hear me say I'm proud of the team, because I'm not when they lose. But I see guys that I've never seen actually act like they like to put on a Gator football helmet. If there's a little thing you can take out of this, I think we toughened up a little bit.

Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. But I see guys that I've never seen actually act like they like to put on a Gator football helmet. If there's a little thing you can take out of this, I think we toughened up a little bit.

It means you're a true Gator. Before you walk out that tunnel, touching that gator, it gives you the confidence that you have and lets you know that all the sacrifices the older guys in the 50s, 60s and 80s made gave you the opportunity to be able to touch that gator.

It's not a denial thing. It's not like it's not happening. But, to me, you have got to play football first. We're not trying to be financial guys, accountants or businessmen. We're football players. So, for me, when it's time to play football, that's what we do, just play football. Business and money and contracts all take care of themselves.

A football helmet gives you an awful lot of protection, ... but you don't have to be a doctor or an engineer or even a football player to realize that the helmet does not block out all the measured force produced when some 300-pound player with a hand the size of a Christmas ham whacks you in the head dozens of times a game, season after season.

That's fundamental, basic football that we can be better at. That's what we've got to get across to our team. To me, the biggest factor is we can play smarter than we're playing. We can play harder. Our guys wanted to play, they were prepared to play, but we have to learn to play at a higher tempo when we're playing.

Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? I'm happy with where we are with our football team. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

I'm doing everything except playing, ... and that has helped a lot. I wanted to be there with the guys I came up with. You can't forget that. And I need to participate in everything in case I get the chance to play this year. Hopefully, I can play football again.

We started pulling on the line, and this huge gator pops up on the surface. Martin was armed with a .22 magnum pistol. He shot it a few times in the head, but the gator kept submerging and resurfacing. Then the main line snapped and the gator was free-lined. It took about 21/2 hours for us to subdue it.

I kind of always wanted to play. I saw a lot of the guys that came in with my class and I played basketball and volleyball with them and I could play with them. I gave (football) a shot and fell in love with the game.

It wasn't an intentional helmet-to-helmet or anything, ... Sometimes those things happen when guys are playing fast. I was just glad to see Marcus get up and be OK.

I had never played organized football before in my life. I was tossing a football at George Lane Park and Quinton asked me if I wanted to play... This could be the last chance I get to play football in my life.

We don't need any helmet-to-helmet contact, especially back there, because that's where you can have injuries. But it's just an aggressive play, and we'll count it as that.
