en I'm happy because the bike worked well. I was confident of a pole position but Nicky set a fantastic lap time ... and second position for tomorrow is not so bad.

en This is awesome, ... It's been a long road for the GTO to get up on the pole position. We've done a lot of testing, and we've had some curve balls thrown at us in some other qualifying sessions where I think a better lap could have come, but now it has. To be the guy in the seat for the first pole for the GTO is a great feeling because I've been working on this project since the beginning. Pontiac has put up a huge effort. Jan got the first win and I got the first pole. I think the car will be good tomorrow.

Sitting in second place heading into tomorrow's final round is a good position for us to be in. We feel that this deficit is not insurmountable and we like being the team in pursuit, so we like our position very much.

rider. Nothing is decided until superpole but it will be important to get a good position as this is a
difficult circuit to overtake on.

en This is not how I imagined the day would end. Even after we had our pole position taken away from us, I was confident of a good result. Everyone knew we had the fastest car and there were only two drivers in front of me, but it was not to be.
