en I was ready for just about anything that anybody could throw at me. I was ready for the challenge of winning the Stanley Cup. I was ready for this city. I wasn't intimidated about coming to New York.

en Something like that always leaves a sour taste in your mouth. (The loss) never really left our minds. That was a big focus for us coming in.

en We didn't put any extra pressure on ourselves because we were coming off a loss, but it's nice to play well and get that taste out of your mouth as soon as you can.

en I can just relax and gradually get ready. I'm starting to feel really good at the plate now. Everything is coming back. I don't want to peak at the wrong time. I want to be ready for the season.

en I wish we could play. When you come off of a disappointing loss, you want to get back at it and get the feeling, the taste out of your mouth.

en We'll be ready for Thursday's game, but I know I'm thinking of Branson on Saturday. The taste from last year's loss is still there. We want to see Branson again.

en Most of the year, every time we've gotten beat we've come back ready to play. We got beat 10-0 on Tuesday and we won 10-0 here today. And I can tell you I like the winning 10-0 than the losing 10-0. It was good to see our guys bounce back.

en It's a great way to bounce back [from a 4-2 loss to Atlanta Wednesday]. When you lose, you want that taste out of your mouth as soon as possible.

en I feel the importance and value of winning more and more. Unfortunately, I couldn't find time to meet with my parents who were here to watch my performance. Hopefully, I'll share time with them after coming back home to Japan.

en It is pre-season, but we're coming off a loss and we want to get into the winning habit at home.
