CMA established the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1961, and it is truly our format's ultimate honor. We are proud to continue support of the Museum, which not only displays the Hall of Fame plaques, but also showcases and archives unique country music artifacts in addition to providing outstanding educational opportunities about our musical format.

Buck has a broad list of unique and memorable accomplishments. But we're talking about the best of the best. And why are we just now talking about Buck O'Neil and the Hall of Fame? There was no talk of Buck in the Hall of Fame in the '60s, '70s, '80s or early '90s. If Ken Burns hadn't featured him in his documentary about the history of baseball, hardly anybody outside of Kansas City would know who he is.

Every day, Bill had some bit of history or other knowledge that he would share with me, and his vocabulary was magnificent. Every day, I learned something. I tried to suck up as much of it as I could. Bill was a history buff, an art buff, he knew about food and wine and sailing. And baseball-wise, he kept up with everything. He's a Hall of Fame guy, to me.

I think they did a great job. It kind of highlights the world championships and gives the history of the team of the Hall of Fame guys. The most important thing is that the fans feel comfortable with it or are happy.
