en Polaroid sent me to the Winona School of Photography. They wanted us to understand more about the professional process.

en Any time you play Winona, it's a great thing for you because you're going to be tested. They're better than us athletically at every position. You could put all five of Winona's starters on the first-team (all-NSIC) and you couldn't really argue it. They're that good.

en We wanted everybody to understand that evolution is the single process by which everything comes to be.

en We were driving to school one morning when he was 8 years old and I said, 'Luke, what do you want to be when you grow up?' ... He said right then he wanted to be a professional baseball player. I wanted to tell him how it was a long shot and he should probably choose something else. It was right there on my lips. I think God stopped me. Instead, I said, 'Luke, somebody has to be a major-league baseball player, so why not you?'

en Once I started working with the Polaroid, I would take a shot and if that shot was good, then I'd move the model and change the lighting or whatever... slowly sneaking up on what I wanted rather than having to predetermine what it was.

en We had tremendous interest in him; we wanted him to be part of our program. He wanted to pursue the opportunities of going to a D-I school. That process ran longer than I was willing to wait. ... He was a very, very high priority. We're very disappointed, but I couldn't wait forever.

en We're so thrilled to have Rob join our roster of published, well-known, and well-respected photographers. Not only is Rob a professional photographer and writer, he is also a wonderful instructor, and will be a great mentor to our photography students.

en Photography to the amateur is recreation, to the professional it is work, and hard work too, no matter how pleasurable it my be.
