We thought we were probably going to win a few games. And hey, who says we won't? But right from the get-go, it's been one thing after another.

en We did some things to better ourselves to play with that group. For the most part, we haven't been able to do that. We thought we'd have more depth. We just haven't been able to have our guys out there for the kind of time that we would like.

en The last couple years for them to be in the position they've been in winning wise, it's been tough on me being injured, ... You want to be part of that. At the same time, it's a family in here and I'm still part of it. You don't have that emotional attachment, you haven't spent that time grinding it out. It's kind of like I've been the long lost relative, kind of been out of the country for a while.

en Every night, the last three games he's played, the onus has kind of been on the guys up front. We haven't scored enough goals to give him that support, and we also haven't done our part defensively.

en What's different about this club, when you have this many setbacks, it's usually part of why you don't win or you barely squeeze by in the last week of the season with a good but not great record. To have this kind of run and play this quality of baseball for this long is why this club deserves a very different kind of credit.

en Yeah. He had spent a long time in this organization. For us, it was sad to see him go. He was sad to go. He?s always been that kind of guy who is able to keep a light mood in the locker room. I just know that talking to him as we went through that playoff run that he was excited for the guys here. He really was. He is just that kind of guy -- a genuine kind of guy. But you could just sense that he wanted to be a part of it. And you just want those kind of guys in your locker room.

en He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. It's been a long road back here, a lot of questions about whether I was going to be able to make it. [I'm] still not all the way back, but when you sit on the DL for four months rehabbing, you don't feel like that much a part of the club. Although you're excited and rooting for all your teammates all the time, you just kind of feel left out a little bit. Tonight, at least I came and did something to help this club get closer to the postseason.

en The fact that those kind of goals haven't really hurt us hasn't made the point sink in yet. When we give one up and lose, hopefully it will mean more to our guys.

en We haven't handled that kind of pressure very well (in the past). I just try to keep guys focused and keep guys aware that we can get beat any time.

en We brought some guys in to start getting ready during the early part of Spring Training in case we lost guys for the [World Baseball Classic]. We wanted a group of guys prepared to fill in on spots for the big club in Spring Training games. Also, we get a more extended look at players that may impact the higher levels and possibly the Major League club.

en I think injuries played some part in our club not performing as well [during the season]. We never had our club together very long. Unfortunately, the little bit of time we did have them, we didn't play very well during that time period.

en I just like the fact that we swung the bats. We haven't done that very well against this club.

en These guys kind of have a deer-in-the headlights look; they haven't been through this kind of thing and it shows. I'm afraid FEMA has gone backwards in time to the old era of a more traditional campaign-loyalty position.
