en That's what we would like to think. I do think our core players are in place. They're established, and they're young. I don't think this is our best squad that we'll have. I think next year will be a better squad than we had this year. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to make a stand for a long time.

en I have seen some terrifically exciting changes with young players coming into the squad which is reinvigorated. The older players and the whole group has been refreshed by the youth and enthusiasm that has come into the team. I think that has been misunderstood and misrepresented in certain quarters to the detriment of Indian cricket.

en We're still trying to work out with the Australian Rugby Union whether we can bring in someone like Matt in a time of injury crisis like this or whether we have to work with the contracted players already in the squad.

en We're at the stage where some of our more experienced players are injured, some have already been rested, so it's a great opportunity to bring a bit of youth and enthusiasm into the squad.

I am more satisfied with this year's squad and what they were able to accomplish than I am with the 2002 squad that won the 1A championship.
