We're relying on that report to tell us exactly where are we transporting students that are walking two miles or more away from home to get to school, versus other students who walk more than two miles that don't get transportation.

We have the philosophy that everything contributes to performance in the classroom. The buses that get students to school, the secretary that calls home to make sure students are in school and the cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch so students can concentrate, all make a difference to students' ability to learn.

We expect 1,500 elementary and middle school students throughout Glynn County to attend the two free performances. These are very popular and always fill up early. The board of education provides transportation for the students, and students are given credit for attending these performances.

The first day of practice I couldn't run four miles on my own. I ran two miles and then I had to walk two miles. I was going to quit. It was just pure running, I wasn't running with a ball. I didn't have anything to throw or shoot, it wasn't fun.

Anything beyond walking briskly for 12 miles per week, whether increasing your intensity or the amount of miles, has additional benefits. So there is a separate and combined effect.

We have really tried to make the building feel more like a middle school. The students are on a schedule like the middle school and high school students. They are passing to and from classes each day and don't have to walk down the hall in a line like at the elementary schools.

The procedure that's outlined in our transportation manual is that bus drivers may drop off students, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at the end of the day at the regular bus stops along with other students. They are not required to stay and wait for parents or guardians before dropping off their students.

The best use of your miles is international upgrades. Miles used in business class may have a value to 10 to 11 to 12 cents per mile versus one penny per mile when using them domestically.

The flight definitely takes its toll on you physically. That's one reason why we international students don't go home that often. I hope that the School Board will see the wisdom of providing bus monitors, at least for all buses transporting elementary school students.

The transportation department is looking for the safest way to deliver the students home. Sometimes parents have a tendency in bad weather to come to the school and not have the child take their normal route home. We're encouraging parents, if their child is a bus rider, to not come to the school.

We were out scouting for fish today, and we found a school right below the Bay Bridge that was 3.5 miles long and 2.5 miles wide.
