It's no surprise to anyone that you had at least 100,000 people in the city of New Orleans who are dirt poor, who don't have cars, who don't have access to public transportation, who don't have any way to get out of the city simply just because someone says there is a Force 5 hurricane coming, you ought to get out. If you didn't have the buses there to get them out, why should it be a surprise to you that they stayed?

en I'm sure there will be thousands of new jobs. But the question is whether they subtract jobs from people working nearby.

en The aid agencies have managed to give some help to hundreds of thousands of people, but there are an estimated half a million more people out there in desperate need, who no one has managed to reach. People don't just need food ? first of all they need shelter, blankets and medical assistance ? then food and clean water.

en Lower-paid jobs in the suburbs increasingly are being taken by people in the city who can't afford to live in the suburbs.

en It's a great looking building for a great city -- my favorite city. It's something Maryville can be proud of, and thousands upon thousands of tourists can get a good impression of the city.

en Thousands of workers in this province have been losing good jobs across Ontario, jobs that are not going to be restored by (Thursday's) announcement, jobs that will probably never come back.

en New York State and City have made a smart decision in investing in these projects as thousands of jobs will be created during the construction.
