en It seemed like half the town of Marvell was working here last night to be sure we were ready to welcome people today,

en The amount of work that they do and the job they have done for the town speaks for itself. The supervisor and the town board members are pretty much [working] 24-7. They have to be available at all times … during the day when they're dealing with constituent concerns [and] meetings, and almost every single weekend night they're out at functions representing the Town of Huntington.

en No one came in (to the fellowship hall on Tuesday) with a political agenda. That's not what we're about. Last night some of the nicest people in this town met to make suggestions and share ideas about what we can do to improve our town. There was no name calling or anything like that. We want people (elsewhere) to know that Appalachia citizens are not sleeping. We are very aware and just want to get our town back together again.

en I went into town today to buy a tent just for tonight. I knew a lot of people were going to be down there and I planned on camping out all night, something I was actually really excited about.

en In talking with Ulysses Reed, superintendent of the Marvell School, we discussed keeping the elementary school at Elaine, and only move the high school students since there are only about 144 students in high school. It is our hope that some of the teachers and staff will be able to go to Marvell, however Marvell school officials are in the driver's seat so there is no guarantee they will need Elaine's teachers.

en Today we were ready. We were happy to get this second chance. We weren't ready last night, but today we woke up and stuck together as a team. We came back and showed our true colors.

en I felt Marvell [played well], in the first half -- Freddy didn't want any part of him.

en The game is constantly interesting because your imagination is constantly working. You're given clues about the background of the town of Silent Hill and you understand half of them and the other half you imagine.

en The whole idea of Spring Training is exciting because you know all this month-and-a-half, we have the opportunity to get ready for the season. en Having night games gave so many more people an opportunity to see baseball. Once the war started, you saw a lot more night games being scheduled. In Washington, D.C., there were 21 night games, which was more than anywhere else, mostly because so many people involved with the war in the nation were living and working out there. Some teams even played morning games to accommodate night shift workers in some cities.

en We have so many people who can score on this team. Last night (win against Wesleyan) it was Marisa (Berne) who scored big points for us and in the first half today it was Julia.

en That's the exciting part about working with 16, 17, and 18-year old players, you just never know what to expect. It only takes one bad night for anyone's season to end early. Luckily, we limited it to just half a night.

en Everybody was out every night. At the end of the night, everybody would converge at the Earl of Old Town because that was open late. I kept hearing about Tom Dundee. There was even a song of his printed in the Come For To Sing magazine. Of course, Tom was out of town at the time.

en It used to be thousands of people hanging out on the streets, getting ready for the parade with their kids and stuff. Kids are all in school somewhere else now. It's not really a family event today. Just people who've been able to come back, working. It's really sad.

en They sold 1,000 tickets, and we only have 3,000 people in the town. So it means a third of our town-plus is down there today.
