All of the sudden ordtak

All of the sudden these people know more about our area than we do. They form all these groups and committees and tell everyone what they're going to do for the community.

We've formed a coalition of 27 Bay Area organizations and community groups. The message to other activists is to concentrate on San Francisco. We anticipate 100,000 people.

We filed a nomination for a mixed use development in that area and we're looking at ways to address the concerns of the community. Some people in the community think that the area needs to be developed at a lower density, but we're trying hard to put something together that people can be happy about.

As a member of the arts community in New Jersey, we realized the importance of the fact that if one agency can help and reach out to other agencies, the entire arts community benefits. You can't exist in a vacuum. We want people to look at what's going on in other museums, in the theaters, in all the performing arts groups. It makes New Jersey dynamic and this area that we're in... extremely dynamic.

Acquiring grants has been difficult lately, ... However, community groups are beginning to help us out. Lester Johnson, chief executive officer for Douglass National Bank is giving money to help run the clubs, such as the Greater Pentecostal Community Family Club in the area.

It's not at all untypical for multiple groups to form among Christian conservatives or other groups as well. There may be slightly different goals.

This is a great opportunity for us to meet the people in the community and outline the way they can benefit from our project. And we are really fortunate to have the backing of many of the local community groups.

I feel real good about what we're doing. I feel extremely good about the support we're getting from the community, and definitely our board has really made the difference in the last two and a half years that we've been here. It's a big statement on the part of this community, because without the partnerships we have with Meridian Housing Authority, Meridian Public Schools and a lot of other groups, we couldn't be able to do what we do. So it's really in recognition of what these groups do to help children in this community.

This is a great area for small groups. The area accommodates anywhere from 40 to 60 people. They enjoy a picnic on the deck, and they remain on the deck for the entire game. It's nice and it's private.

These are authentic avalanches. They're trying to come in groups of 50 to 100 people, so it's a new form [of assault] and we have to react in a new way.

You will see a similar pattern among all business groups. The majority of members of the major committees are now Republican, and certainly the key leaders are.

We are hopeful to have a good interest level to form one or two daytime groups and hopefully an evening group. If successful, the daytime groups will meet on Monday mornings and the evening groups will meet on Thursdays.

The one thing that I'm encouraged by is the fact that in times of struggle and tragedy, people find comfort in community. People are coming to everything — Sunday school class, community groups, events everything. Attendance has gone through the roof. I feel like people are doing relatively well. One thing Kyle told us to do was to live and live well. Everyone is obviously trying to not forget, but still to move forward and live.
