en We began with a bang today and suddenly the sellers came out of the woodwork. Certainly a lot of hot money flowed into the tech side recently and that hot money moves so quickly. We may be close to a final sell off on the tech side because it went down a lot faster than it went up.

en Tech stocks are essentially counter-cyclical, so that even if there is a tech sell-off, even if the tech sector slows down with a slowing of the economy, these companies will continue to grow and probably even grow faster than they're growing now.

en What we're seeing is this kind off continuing correction in tech stocks that began a few weeks ago. The money is leaving tech and going to what we call value stocks.

en The tech sector as a whole has performed so badly this year; the Nasdaq has been the worst performer year-to-date. I think a lot of money flew into the 10-year bond during the conventions, during the Olympics, and now people are looking to put their money into the beaten-down sectors, like tech.

en I think you ought to take advantage of whatever rally, if you have one today, to trim whatever holdings you have that may be a disproportionate percentage in your portfolio. You know, I've been negative on the very richly priced high tech, not all tech, but the very richly priced high tech, and I don't think it is too late to sell these.

en The key to success in tech is taking some money off the table. The lesson for investors is not to own things in black and white. There's a happy medium. You can sell some but you don't have to sell all of it.

en The rally is being driven by tech. Money's going into the sector across the board. There's been an underlying bid in the market and any time you think we're going to get a real sell-off, it doesn't happen.

en I really do believe that investors have to have a diversified approach. It will be very tough to pick stocks unless you have a big amount of money in your personal account so you can diversify on your own. So I would think you'd pick the premier technology funds and I'm not trying to sell myself, but I do think that it helps. And I also think that you need to have tech in your portfolio. Tech right now is about 30 percent of the weight of the S&P 500. I think investors are going to put themselves at substantial risk if they get too carried away with some of the companies and have too much in their portfolio. The appropriate weight in your portfolio is 30 percent, which is neutral the benchmark.

en We're using [the money from] the tech fee as conservatively as we can. We have a very robust and capable network on campus, but it takes money and support to keep it that way.

en I'd say we're doing very well, all things considered, ... Clearly, there is more money available out there, when even sectors that are fairly stretched, like tech and banks, are doing well today.
