It's bittersweet because my ordtak

en It's bittersweet because my high school season's over, but I still get to play in as all-star game. It has its rewards.

en It's bittersweet. The last time I was in an all-star game, I was in Grade 11 or 12 in high school. That was a lot of fun. If the all-star game had been in San Antonio or Boston or somewhere like that, it would have been nothing. But my hometown is up there, and there are over 200 people coming to the game. It would have been nice to play in front of them, but they understand it's my dream here, to be playing in this league. It's just too bad, I guess.

en In Kentucky, it's everything. Our homecoming is during basketball season. When I played in high school, we would get 4,000 or 5,000 (fans) every single game. We had to play in a downtown arena. We couldn't play in our own high-school gym.

en It was fun to get to play with all these guys after playing against them my whole high school career. We just wanted to come out and play hard. Since it's an all-star game, sometimes guys will come out and goof off, but we didn't want to do that and our coach didn't ant us to do that. We wanted to play hard. That's what our teams have been doing all season.

en He did that his whole high school career. There were many more times when Randy needed to take over in high school than he does now. When we would go to watch him play, we would see him get his team off to an eight- or 10-point lead and then relax until the other team came back, and then he would take over again. He did that his whole high school career. It?s been our biggest challenge with him, but it?s also what makes him such a special player. No matter what went on prior in the game, when the game is on the line, he?s ready to take over.

en Next season, we start our high school game-of-the-week package, and Steve will be our man. Plus, he'll work as a reporter when he's not doing play-by-play.

en We got to meet at an all-star game (after their senior year in high school). It's going to be an experience to be in a game like this with such experienced players.

en Give credit to Ryan, a good kid, a disciplined kid who wants badly to play. Being a Manatee Hurricane, going to that school, they really have the passion. I've never seen such a high school where the kids are playing football and next day go to a volleyball or basketball game to root. They're so close to each other. That factor makes him the way he is. He doesn't want to be outside. He wants to be part of that group. Hopefully, he can be 100 percent by football season.

en There's guys hitting at the lower end of our order here hitting seventh, eighth and ninth that when they were in high school were their No. 3 hitter and were their star high school player.

en It rewards Luke for being a very thorough journalist and taking high school journalism seriously.
