The contract is not in my mind, ... What's there now is San Diego.

I had nothing against San Diego or the people of San Diego when I made this decision. ... My decision was not based on where I'd be living. It was about being there and playing football there for possibly six or seven years with a contract, and it just didn't seem like the right fit for me.

As a professional services contract it does not have to be competitively bid, which was the primary question people had in their mind. Do we have to bid this out, or can this contract be awarded to this company?

He has made it perfectly clear that he does not want a new contract from them. The mind-set is there really is no future there. This young man only wants peace of mind. He does not feel that he would have peace of mind playing there.

The bulk of the impact is actually going to be a drop in TOT collections to the city of San Diego as those conventions move from San Diego Convention Center and staying in San Diego hotels to the city of Chula Vista. It's not plus-plus; there is a minus associated with it.

We do have concerns that businesses who were potentially looking to relocate to San Diego may reconsider based on the instability of the fiscal system here in San Diego. You would never want to relocate a business to San Diego and, on arriving, be hit by major fee and tax increases that increase your costs of operation. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice.

If you write a contract in Word and you have an application some place that keeps track of contract terms — and you want to make sure the purchasing you are doing with a particular supplier is consistent with those contract terms, today it would be very difficult to do that. Users need to take that Word document and pull the key pieces of data out and put it into a contract management system so you can enforce purchasing regulations against that contract.

I've always (wanted) to play in San Diego. It's a great city, and I have a lot of friends there. I always hit good in San Diego, too.
