People said the secondary was a weakness here last year. But now it's not. I'm really excited about the guys coming in here. What we need now is communication, and that will come from being here, talking and joking around with one another.

I'm a quiet guy, but these guys, I'm joking with them, they're joking with me, we're talking. They've really welcomed me. It feels good.

We have to develop our quarterback and our secondary. My biggest concern is the secondary. I'm excited about the young guys. They will compete, that's all I look for.

The things that he can do to help not only (John Gibbons), but me as an infield instructor with the young guys. Every conversation that we've had, I've hung up the phone and gone, 'All right, Shea is one-year comfortable in the organization. Now he's ready to take more of a controlled leadership.' He's not worried about being relegated to a secondary role. He's excited about what he can do to make us better.

We get in there, get a sandwich, watch a movie. Those guys talk and laugh in the back. What I like is that it gives us a lot of time to spend with the guys. It's a different setting, and we're talking and joking around with them. They just enjoy it.

For us to be the defensive team that we need to be, and we're capable of becoming, it all starts with communication. That's our main thing. When we're out there, we need to constantly be talking to one another.

Their weakness is their secondary and we understood that. You want to put pressure on their weakness.

The lesson from Hurricane Katrina was communication, communication, communication, ... Public safety has to be a priority. Then we can go to constituents and start talking about investments that have to be made in upgrading the networks.

I'm really excited about the coming season. The way this team came together, with me coming from Health Net, Chris coming from Navigators, and other guys pulling out from other teams, it's really made the talent pool more dispersed. And that's what makes racing fun. There's not going to be one team that dominates this year.

Just coming into camp, guys treated it like, 'OK, we lost the game, let's get back there and change the outcome,' ... Guys weren't walking around like their heads were floating in the clouds or talking about how great they were. Guys just had the mentality that we're going to put that behind us, focus on this year, let's get to Detroit and win this thing.
