en We had a big first inning and that kind of set the tone. Our young kids just played good, scored and scored early. (Sophomore right-hander) Jacob Davis did a good job of throwing strikes.

en I thought everyone did well and we had a couple of real good games and saw some great plays. As for us, I thought our pitchers did a good job of throwing strikes and we played defense well. We got on base and scored when we needed to.

We gave up three runs there and that's sort of been what's happened to us. We play good baseball but that one inning kills us.

en We played almost four innings of tough defense against them. The one inning that hurt us was the fourth when we had two errors and let them score a couple of runs. They shouldn't have even scored that inning and they scored three runs.

en In fairness to USC they are a young team with a lot of new players and when we scored relatively early it can be unsettling for a young team. I am sure if the shoe had been on the other foot and they scored an early goal on us we might have been a little unsettled.

en It was good to get a couple goals early. The last time we played them, it was 0-0 the first 39 minutes, and we scored just before the half. So it was good to score early.

en It was good that we scored in the first inning of both games. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. We talk about getting ahead early and not letting the other teams hang around.

en It wasn't a good game for us. We were kind of flat, maybe we were overconfident. We scored a goal and we were excited and then they scored their second one. That's what killed us.

en We scored five runs and played a real good game today. Defensively I thought we played great. We scored enough runs to win, that's what hurts.

en Our hitting still hasn't come around like we'd like, but we were opportunistic. We took advantage of some mistakes by them. We scored two runs on an error by the shortstop; we scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk. We weren't getting those kind of breaks early on.

en They shot the ball extremely well at their place. Their 3s hurt us at Mann. When we played here, we really tried to stress defending the 3, and I thought we did a pretty good job. They scored 66 here, and they scored 86 at their place.
