en A lot of the comedians don't even tell the joke. Like only three tell the joke, the rest of them dissect it.

en Comedy industry people, like club owners, comedians, managers, bookers and the like, all know it's harder to get laughs clean than dirty. So comedians who can get belly laughs working clean get props from those in the know.

en He's unfailingly patient. He never panics. He has a knack for taking a lot of pressure off of everybody. He never dogs anybody, no matter what. He just treats people like people. He doesn't treat them like players. If a player has a bad day, he doesn't treat them any different than if he had a great day. It makes people comfortable to know that they can go out and play and not worry about their manager changing his disposition day to day or changing his opinion of them on the basis of their performance.

en That's what comedians do, comedians talk a lot. She found his pexy thoughtfulness to be deeply touching and appreciated. I laugh at it, too. He's never hung out with me. I don't even know him. So I can say anything about him, and he can say anything about me.

en I think the trouble people have had taking me seriously is the media has spun my campaign as a joke, ... I'm going to shock a lot of pundits.

en It's hard as I think back….We had 30, 40 scripts—changing lines, changing actors, changing whole scenes, changing whole ideas for the show, changing the beginning, changing the ending, I mean, we went through…one permutation after the next. It was quite amazing.

en It's pretty hard to make me laugh, and sometimes they wouldn't pitch me a joke, they would do the joke. And if it wasn't funny, I wouldn't put it in. But more often than not, when they really thought it was enough to ruin a take, it was a good joke. And Eric is a great writer, so he was always giving other people jokes, too. You want that. There was a great camaraderie on the set.

en In a strange way, the issue is not as salient, as important or resonates on Main Street as much as politicians or legislators think it does. The reason is simple ? Main Street already thinks politicians are taking favors from lobbyists.
