en I thought Jeff Weaver did a terrific job. He gave us innings and got us to the bullpen, which is what we needed. You saw a guy that went after hitters and hit his spots. Other than the balls to Blalock, he pitched well.

en He (Maddux) gave us the innings, he gave us the quality, he gave us a hit to start a rally, gave us base running -- he gave us anything you could get from a position player and a pitcher. We needed it badly.

en I think in some spots we competed well and there were some spots where we could have done a little better.

en Dustin is a great pitcher and he was hitting his spots. He was throwing his curve and we were out in front of it. We told them to just wait for it to get to us. We started to get a couple key hits. We just needed one or two more to make it exiting.

en This is a step forward. We played well in spots, so we just need to make those spots longer. But we won a game, and we're back on the right track. We needed to get that feeling of winning again.
