en I know not how long a republican government can
flourish among a great people who have not the Bible; the experiment has never
been tried.

en The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered... deeply, ...finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.
  George Washington

en The First Amendment commands government to have no interest in theology or ritual; it admonishes the government to be interested in allowing religious freedom to flourish -- whether the result is to produce Catholics, Jews, or Protestants, or to turn the people toward the path of Buddha, or to end in a predominantly Moslem nation, or to produce in the long run atheists or agnostics. On matters of this kind, government must remain neutral. This freedom plainly includes freedom from religion with the right to believe, speak, write, publish and advocate antireligious programs.

en People interpret things through their owns lens, just the way they do the Bible. You can find justification for just about everything in the Bible. I think man has got a great ego when it comes to his God, whatever that is. It just seems to me that someone who wants to take on God's punishment, it just seems a huge egoism to think that he should appoint himself to take care of God's punishments.

en It is essential...that you should form and adopt certain rules or principles, for the government of your own conduct and temper. Unless you have such rules and principles, there will be numberless occasions on which you will have no guide for your government but your passions...It is in the Bible, you must learn them, and from the Bible how to practice them.
  John Quincy Adams

en The federal government has characterized the spring rise as an experiment to learn more about the pallid sturgeon. It is disheartening to know that the welfare of our citizens is being threatened by an experiment.

en This is a defining moment. The Republican Party came to power in 1995 by advocating limited government. But in the last four to five years, there has been no evidence that the Republican officials in the federal government have any remaining commitment to this vital principle.

en Yeah, sort of good. I mean, there's a split in the Republican Party. Republicans used to be, once upon a time, for fiscal conservatism, and there are a few of those left, and they're starting to murmur more, and, you know, people forget Ronald Reagan raised taxes, you know, he cut taxes, but then he raised taxes. George Bush, the father, raised taxes. It's not, there's no law in the Bible that says a Republican can never raise taxes.

en We are a Bible preaching and Bible teaching church. Pastor Schwartz is a wonderful preacher. He teaches that the Bible is the word and doesn't mince words about telling it like it is in the Bible.

en A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. There are a lot of Americans giving donations right now, which is great, but it will take an organized response from the federal government to do real long-term good. I don't know if our government today has the ideology to do such a thing. This government doesn't seem to be very sympathetic to poor people right now. And the poor are the ones most severely affected by this disaster.

en We are being asked to engage in a great social experiment, and the results of that experiment, if it is a failure, will be visited upon our children.

en It's kind of experiment time, ... We'll see if people get behind us, and if the picture's any good. But it has to be that people will experiment with me. If not, fine, I'll just go back to writing books or something. But I have the feeling I'm onto something.

en The Bible must be considered as the great source of all the truth by which men are to be guided in government as well as in all social transactions.
  Noah Webster

en As an experiment we decided to try a collaboration together between the three of us, and it turned out great, and we have been working together ever since the first experiment.

en Just meet people where they're at. We believe not to condemn people, not to beat them over the head by the Bible. We're not passing out tracts, not cramming Bible verses down their throat. . . . We want to show people we are just like they are.
